my portfolio - a collection of projects & experience

I am currently studying Events Management at Oxford Brookes University and am in my second year of study. I am also a  freelance lighting and sound technician with nine years of experience working in a theatre and live events arena. I have worked on a variety of plays, musical theatre, dance performances and music events with experience in lighting, live sound, rigging of sound and lighting systems.

June - July (2014), June - August (2015-2017)

At TASIS Switzerland I work as a Performing Arts Program administrator, schedular and technical coordinator. My job role involves dealing with day to day problem solving and creating the schedule for the thirteen teachers along with resolving any scheduling conflicts which arise, and ensuring everyone works a similar number of hours, even if they have highly differing performing arts related classes. As technical coordinator I work to design light, sound and AV for all of our productions along with the larger gymnasium performance space. This also involves running the information screens across campus to live stream performances and display performing arts related information.

I have also worked in the IT department at the start and end of the summer to smooth over technology transition between winter and summer school. This involves setting up desktops and laptops along with classroom AV upkeep and installation and dealing with problems as they arise.

At the Old Firestation I work as a freelance lighting and sound technician. I have worked on a variety of different shows. Working here has given me more experience with the ETC Ion and the Soundcraft S.I. Expression. This theatre was my first experience of a theatre that is not a school theatre. I also enjoy the variety of different shows and events come through the Old Fire Station.
